Well the big Yamaha TMax is rumored to be arriving in the U.S. next year. This is a wildly popular scooter that is designed more for performance than anything else. The suspension and motor have more in common with traditional mc's than scooters.

Here is a brief description from Yamaha Japan:"Think of the TMAX as a sports bike that looks like a scooter. The frame, suspension and engine are pure motorcycle. And with a cruising speed of 160 km/h and sports bike handling qualities, this is one high-performing roller. No unit swingarms or other scooter orthodoxy on this hot-rod. The new TMAX runs fuel injection and higher compression for improved driveability in the low and medium rpm ranges. The suspension has also been upgraded for improved ride quality. • High-tensile-steel Diamond Frame • Liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve Parallel Twin Engine • FI • 498cm3 • Radial Tyres • Dual Front Disc Brakes"Here is a great video of the bike running a short course with the TMax:
The Yamaha TMax is the flagship of the their scooter line. Essentially if offers performance over efficiency. For the record most of the big scooters have a similar sport touring look to them but I don't see it being a clone of the Majesty. Some of the differences from the Majesty are a larger twin motor vs. a single, dual disc brakes, mc like suspension, frame mounted motor are a few of the details. This TMax is Yamaha's equivalent of the Honda SilverWing and Burgman 650 for sophistication. If you want a new design from Yamaha you will have to wait a while for the 250 sport Majesty:

However the TMax does have a few unique features that pull it away from the traditional maxi-scoot design."Using technology proven in Yamaha’s sportbike line, TMAX has a lightweight, CF die-cast aluminum frame that provides rigidity and balance for superb handling.Motorcycle-type telescopic front forks use beefy 43mm tubes.15-inch cast aluminum wheels front and rear are fitted with radial tires for excellent, sporty handling."And Smitty the TMax and many other maxi-scooters are as "real" as a motorcycle.
